Share a file or folder
Every file and folder in DROP is in one of three states: private, shared with people you've invited, or shared by public link. Private is the default.
· The DROP team
Three states
| State | Who sees it | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Private | Only you | Every file, until you change something |
| Invite by number | People you've invited, once they sign in with that number | Working with a colleague or family |
| Public link | Anyone with the link, without signing in | A file you're sending to lots of people |
Invite by mobile number
- On the file or folder, tap Share.
- Type the mobile number. Persian and English digits both work.
- Choose the access: View only or Edit.
- Tap Invite. The file shows up in their Shared section.
If they don't have a DROP account
They just sign in with the number you invited. The account is made in a few seconds and the file is open to them.
Public link
- In the Share window, turn on Public link.
- Tap Copy link and send it wherever you like.
To close the link, turn the same option off. From that moment, anyone who has the link can no longer reach the file.
Don't make public links for personal documents
Anyone the link reaches can see the file, even if you didn't send it to them.
Taking access away
In the same window, tap Remove next to a person's name. The file leaves their Shared section; a copy they downloaded earlier stays on their own device.
If your plan ends and your files become read-only, public links stay closed until you renew.
