Terms of use
These terms are the agreement between you and DROP. You accept them by making an account or using DROP, so read them before you start. Wherever this text says nothing, the laws of the Islamic Republic of Iran apply.
Version 2 · in force from [effective date]
In plain words
- Your files are yours, and so is responsibility for them.
- The 5 free days are once per number.
- Plans don't renew on their own. The space starts the moment you pay, and a period you've bought isn't refunded, so try the 5 free days before you buy.
- If you don't renew, your files are deleted on day twenty after your plan ends. We text you before that.
- Content that is criminal under Iranian law has no place in DROP.
This summary doesn't replace the full text.
1. Who this agreement is between
DROP is provided by [company name], national ID [ID], registration number [registration number], address [office address]. In this text «we» means that company and «you» means anyone who has a DROP account or uses DROP.
These terms and the privacy policy are one agreement. Where they disagree, the privacy policy wins.
2. Your account
- Each account is tied to one mobile number and opens with a texted code. Anyone with access to your SIM card can sign in to your account, so look after your SIM.
- If you change your number or lose your SIM, tell us quickly through the contact page so we can close sign-in with the old number.
- The name you enter must be your own. You share files under it, and people know you by it.
- If you're under 18, use DROP only with the permission of your parent or legal guardian. They make any purchase.
- You can't sell or hand over your account to someone else.
3. The 5 free days
Each mobile number gets 5 GB of space free for 5 days, once. The trial doesn't renew. Making accounts with other numbers just to repeat the trial is a breach of these terms.
If you buy a plan within the 5 days, your files stay where they are. If not, the steps in section 6 apply.
4. Plans and payment
- Each plan's price, in tomans and including VAT, is shown before you pay, and that is the amount you're charged.
- Payment goes through a bank gateway and the Shaparak page. We never see or keep your card number.
- Plans don't renew on their own, and no money leaves your card unless you pay. We text you a reminder before each period ends.
- You can move to a bigger plan whenever you like, and the new space is added at once. The amount for the change is shown before you pay.
- If prices change, a period you've already paid for ends at the old price.
5. Withdrawal and refunds
Article 37 of the Electronic Commerce Act gives a distance buyer 7 working days to withdraw. Under the implementing regulation for Articles 38 and 42 of the same Act, this right doesn't apply to a service that began, with the buyer's agreement, before that period ended.
DROP's space starts the moment you pay. Before paying, on the purchase page, you agree that the space is given to you at once; so after buying you have no right of withdrawal and a period you've bought isn't refunded. The space is yours until the end of that period. That's why there are 5 free days: to try DROP before you pay.
Two cases are different:
- If money left your account but the plan didn't start, the bank returns it within 72 hours under Shaparak's rules. If it doesn't, tell us through the contact page with the tracking number.
- If DROP is unavailable for more than [24] hours in a row because of our error, we add that time to your plan free of charge.
6. When a plan ends
If your plan or the free trial ends and you don't renew, your files aren't deleted all at once:
- 3 days before: we text you a reminder.
- 3 days after the end: your files become read-only. You can see and download all of them, but uploads, edits and public links are closed.
- 6 days after: DROP closes and your files are hidden, but they're still on the server.
- 20 days after: every file is deleted and can't come back.
Until day twenty, buying or renewing brings everything back as it was.
7. Your files
Whatever rights you have in your files stay yours. DROP may only keep your files, show them, make previews of them and deliver them to the people you choose. That permission ends when you delete the file.
You're responsible for what your files contain. Upload or share only what you have the right to.
8. What's not allowed
In DROP you may not:
- keep or spread content that is criminal under Iranian law, including the computer crimes chapter of the Islamic Penal Code;
- upload or spread work whose copyright belongs to someone else, against the Act for the Protection of Authors, Composers and Artists and the Act for the Protection of the Rights of Software Creators;
- spread viruses, malware or files made to deceive people;
- use invitations or public links to send unwanted advertising;
- try to reach other people's accounts or files, or get around the limits on space and the free trial;
- send mass automated requests that slow DROP down or cut it off for others.
9. What we do about breaches
- If a judicial authority or the Committee for Determining Instances of Criminal Content orders it, we close access to the file or link under Article 751 of the Islamic Penal Code, and keep the file as long as the law requires.
- If a rights holder says a file in DROP infringes their rights, they can write to [report email]. We close that file's public link until the matter is settled and tell the account owner.
- For other breaches we first send a warning text. If it happens again, we close public links or the whole account. Even then you can download your files for 20 days, unless a judicial authority requires otherwise.
10. Availability
We work to keep DROP available at all times. We announce planned maintenance at least a day ahead and do it in quiet hours where we can.
If DROP is unavailable for reasons beyond our control, such as a nationwide internet shutdown, an order from the authorities, a natural disaster or a widespread power cut, we aren't responsible for that time. We'll still keep you informed whenever we can.
We improve DROP and may change a feature. If we remove a feature you've paid for, we tell you at least 30 days ahead.
11. Liability
If a file is lost or reaches someone else through our fault, we are responsible for compensation under the law. As far as the law allows, compensation for damage caused by DROP is no more than what you paid DROP in the past 12 months.
This limit doesn't cover damage we cause on purpose or through gross negligence.
12. Closing your account
Ask to close your account through the contact page whenever you like. Download your files first. After closing, your data is deleted as described in section 3 of the privacy policy.
We close someone's account only in the cases in section 9.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, you'll see it inside DROP itself, not by text or email. The next time you open DROP in the browser or an app, a message tells you what changed and from what day it applies. The message keeps coming back until you press «Seen».
If a change is to your disadvantage, it shows in DROP at least 7 days before it applies. Using DROP after that day means you accept the new terms. Every version stays in the list of changes at the bottom of this page. A period you've paid for ends under the old terms, and the new terms apply from your next renewal.
14. Disputes and complaints
- First raise it with DROP support through the contact page or at [support email]. We reply within [5] working days.
- If that doesn't settle it, you can complain to the E-Commerce Development Center through DROP's eNamad trust seal.
- Any dispute not settled by talking is heard by the courts of [city].
This text is written in Persian. If a translation of it is published, the Persian text prevails.
